Research

I study the geometry and topology of symplectic manifolds and algebraic varieties, using ideas which come from mathematical physics (especially string theory).
More precisely, I spend most of my time thinking about Gromov–Witten invariants and mirror symmetry

Teaching

This semester I will be teaching Math 25b.  My office hours are Monday 2–3pm and Friday 1–2pm.
In the Fall semester of 2003 I taught Math 21a, and in the Spring semester of 2004 I taught Math 121.
